A blast room is a much larger version of a blast cabinet. Blast operators work inside the room to roughen, smooth, or clean surfaces of an item depending on the needs of the finished product. Blast rooms and blast facilities come in many sizes, some of which are big enough to accommodate very large or uniquely shaped objects like rail cars, commercial and military vehicles, construction equipment, and aircraft
Each application may require the use of many different pieces of equipment, however, there are several key components that can be found in a typical blast room:
Additional equipment can be added for convenience and improved usability, such as overhead cranes for manoeuvring the workpiece, wall-mounted units with multiple axes that allow the operator to reach all sides of the workpiece, and sound-dampening materials used to reduce noise levels.
Primary goal of the AWSFS make shot blasting booth is to maintain dust free environment and facilitate health and safety of the personals in the plant area. This type of booth is used for low to medium production rate and when the parts cannot be suspended from a conveyor system due to size, weight, shape or budget. The surface of the work piece is cleaned by a mixture of abrasive and high pressure compressed air being directed at the work piece by blast nozzle. The grit blast room contains the abrasive being shot at the work piece, as well providing lighting & ventilation for the operator's safety. The surface finish and roughness of the cleaned workpiece meet the customer's request. Removal of dirt, oxide scale, welding slag and waste paint on the surface of complex workpiece can make the surface of workpiece smooth, reduce the internal stress of workpiece and strengthen the surface of workpiece in order to improve the adhesion and anti-corrosion ability of paint.
